Dr. Osvold stays current through reading and training on empirically-supported
and evidence-based treatments. She uses the following orientations, depending
on the nature and severity of the issue presented, as well as on the individual needs of the client.
Solution-focused therapy (useful for couples, families, and for individuals)
Education-based communication skills (couples)
Developmental (parent-training, adolescents, family therapy, addictions)
Dr. Osvold considers herself first a Constructivist, however, which means her first and ongoing focus is to understand the thinking and experience of the client.
